Typically, ginseng is an energizer. Red ginseng often is ginseng with caffeine added to give you even more “energy”.
Years ago I used to chew Korean red ginseng roots and used that to break my habit of smoking. The red color comes from being soaked in caffeine. Took one day to quite smoking, although I developed a taste for ginseng, which is harmless.
The Panax brand, by the way, is an expensive high quality brand.
