Has Asian/American Ginseng helped anyone with depression and dealing with stress?

Can you answer ajm48786’s question about Ginseng?:

Have either of those Ginseng strains had a noticeable positive effect on anyone’s well-being? Have they actually increased one’s energy? If so, what dose worked, and which strain is better? No Siberian Ginseng to be regarded please, or any other ginseng imitations, thank you.

Ginseng Feedback: I used to “have” depression and a high level of stress. My suggestion for you… stop thinking that the change will come from some food or miracle pill, it must come from the mind. Know how to worry less and to punish yourself less when you do something wrong. You must accept yourself like you are right now, and only after that you can change one aspect at a time. You must control yourself. Everyone becomes sad, the only difference with me and you is that we will keep the sadness going on and making it worst until it breaks us. Don’t do that.

However, I want to answer that question and any questions you have regarding to food that will lower depressing and stress. I know for one that Asian ginseng will help you, no clue about American ginseng. But I have a question to ask you; do you eat fish at least 3-4 times a week? They contain omega-3 that has been proven to DRASTICALLY reduce depression. I’m talking about 70% changes here: read some scientific articles. However, you must eat whatever you’re eating from a fresh source. NO BOTTLED PILLS, NO STUPID ADS, NO PRODUCTS FROM SO CALLED “NATURAL STORES” NO NO NO! Same thing goes for vitamins, unless the doctor prescribes them to you.

I’m a med student in training, and I’m just spending the evening helping people out over here. But please, it will be my pleasure to talk to you more about these things. My e-mail: hueytrinh “at” gmail.com if ever you are interested about this. I used to suffer from depression a lot, but learned to fight it and now it just doesn’t happen anymore. But remember this: no matter what, you make out life to be what it is, you are always in control. Don’t tell yourself “I have depression and can’t do anything about it”. Not true :D

Ginseng Feedback: capsules which contain 400mg of korean ginseng help a great deal. if they have the extract, then about 12 mg is their content. i have a great deal of faith in this as a practicing medico for many years.

Ginseng Feedback: I’ve used Panax Ginseng for a number of years because I had thought it would help with boosting my energy. I have since quit and feel absolute no different than when I was taking it. I’ve used other forms of ginseng as well, still no better. Same with St John’s Wort. I believe by far the best for energy is caffeine.

Ginseng Feedback: Never heard of any hard evidence for ginseng
St John’s Wort has been shown effective.

a more natural way is meditation
    check out Ishaya.org
or the book ” What happy people know”

you really don’t want to be free of depression and stress!

You want to keep all your old beliefs and thinking patterns.
    and feel better.
In order to feel better you will have to change those beliefs
and if you are like most other people you would rather be right about your view of the world than be happy.

that is why you want a pill it saves you looking at yourself.

Ginseng Feedback: Yes. I use chinese gynseng and it really helps my depression, stress, and anxiety. However, I just started using jiaogulan tea and it helps a lot more. Saint johns wort makes me more depressed. Don’t use gelatin capsules, vegi capsules are better for your stomach.
