does ginseng affect the pill?

Can you answer alice’s question about Ginseng?:

hi! yesterday i read an article about birth control pills destroying the female libido..
i’m not sure, but i think that that kind of happened to me. maybe not destroyed but decreased.. well since i don’t really have another choice for birth control at the moment i thought i could try to look for natural things that increase the libido so i could kind of work against it maybe.. i found some sites that said ginseng would help for that.

does somebody have more information or even experience about it? does it affect the pill?
are there other things i could do?

(oh and my blood pressure is always pretty low.. i read that some of those herbal things can lower blood pressure but i’m not sure. i guess that wouldn’t be that great for me then..)
my blood pressure is not dangerously low. i eat pretty healthy and balanced (well i guess i probably should drink more) and i go swimming regularly..

what else could i do? if there is anything else at all..

Korean Red Ginseng Tea

Ginseng Feedback: No, it doesn’t effect the Pill and it doesn’t effect anything else, either! It’s a big fat placebo. It will do nothing for you. If you’re having libido problems, try eating healthy and exercising regularly. Works wonders for most people.

Is your blood pressure healthily low, or problematic-low? Herbs are legally considered dietary supplements, not actual drugs, and therefore there is NO FDA REGULATION on them. That means that they can vary widely in dosage from what it says on the bottle, and can also contain other things that aren’t listed. Plus, very few studies have been done on most of them. They can lower your BP, raise it, cause blood issues, respiratory issues, sweating issues, and all kinds of other messed up problems.

Messing around with herbs CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. It is not something you should do unless you have a physician monitoring you. Seriously. Don’t even think about it. It’s like driving as fast as you can without a seatbelt on. You might be okay, or you might die. You won’t know until it’s too late to do anything about it.
