Can you answer Aryeh’s question about Ginseng?:
I received a bottle of grounded chinese herbs and I am wondering how I’m supposed to ingest them. Just put them in water or heat the water and let them dissolve. I have no clue.

When Chinese herbs are in granules they usually are already cooked. It would be best to know for sure. Some herbs are just ground up raw, often they are not Traditional Chinese herbs though, Western herbs.
So if you know they have been cooked you can mix in warm water & drink as a tea. Or.. an easy way to take them is simply a 1/2 tsp on back of tongue and swig some water or juice. This is often more convenient if your taking them throughout the day or at work.
Side note.. if the herbs are not cooked, they pose a some danger of containing e-coli, molds, pests, dirt and other contaminants. I, myself would never recommend taking herbs this way. You need to know the source well, herbs are medicine and do pose certain hazards if not prescribed correctly and processed
with diligence. (ie. testing for heavy metals etc).
Ginseng Feedback: I just mix mine in room-temp, filtered water. And have a glass of plain water handy, because they generally are bitter.
Ginseng Feedback: i would assume you boil the water and ad dteh herbs, kinda like a tea, to get the best results.
but i dont know.
Ginseng Feedback: Boil the herbs and water in a non-metal pot for about 20-30 minutes. If you need to strain it, make sure you use a non-metal strainer too. Fair warning, most Chinese herbs taste extremely yucky but it works!
